Initially, the idea behind core conversations, was for a research study into the practices of innovative educators who have engaged with developing the use of digital technologies for teaching and learning. The aim of the study was to give voice to the innovative practices of these educators during the short history of digital technologies in universities and schools. In so doing the research:

  • captured current innovative practices using digital technologies

  • captured educational thought leaders views on the future direction of educational technologies

  • examined the role of leading practitioners in supporting innovation with educational technologies

  • articulated the factors leading to the successes of integrating and sustaining the use of educational technologies

  • articulated the factors leading to the challenges of integrating and sustaining the use of educational technologies

  • created a sustainable educational resource in the form of a database of podcasts
